Title: "TAMARA" by Cesare Triaca
Painting medium: Oil on canvas

The artist Cesare Triaca, who comes from Lombardy, comes from an old peasant family from which he inherited the fundamental values such as a strong attachment and love for the land of his ancestors. His paintings, which differ strongly from the contemporary avant-garde in their romantic realism, are characterised by their the characteristic pink light of the sunsets that illuminate the beautiful view of Lake Como with its small boat harbours and villages or the sailing ships on the canals of Venice. Everything is dominated by the majestic silhouette of the mountains, reflected in the waters of the lake like a vain woman aware of her own beauty. In Cesare's painting, nature envelops us in a warm, relaxing embrace in which we seem to hear the sound of the water and the blowing of the wind. The sailboats sailing on the horizon and the old lighthouses overlooking the lake are reminiscent of the romantic paintings of Fredrich and the 18th century views of Canaletto. The element of water, which is so present in his paintings that we can feel the movement of the currents, often tells us of the fragility of the moment and the time that passes taking us away.
