- Preserved
- Original booklet and plates
- Palmares of rallies and publication in magazines
The German flagship marked W111 and with the friendly nickname "caudal fin", due to the small fins inspired by the American style positioned on either side of the rear bonnet. Its genesis began in 1956 but it wasn't until 1959 that the W111 made its official debut, with a range that included the 220b, 220Sb and 220SEb models. These cars were dedicated to extreme comfort and already featured an independent heating system for the two air vents in the passenger compartment. In addition to comfort, luxury and safety were also important prerogatives for Mercedes engineers when designing the model. In fact, the interiors are extremely well cared for (with wood inserts on the doors and window frames) and the passenger compartment is formed by a cage reinforced with steel tubes. The car on offer at auction is in a preserved state (with original dark grey paintwork cod. MB 7301) produced in 1964 and registered with the ASI with a Gold Plate. It is presented in its complete originality and with a palmares of rallies and publications in magazines - such as the Manovella issue of October 2008. The registration book and plates are original and the current owner has owned the car for over 20 years.
