DESCRIPTION
HONDA XR 600 / FAT MAN

The name "cafe racer" reminds to memories with an ancient flavour and a rebellious soul. In the 60s it was used in the UK to indicate those motorcycles which were stripped of all the accessories elements - and radically modified - and that were parked in front of the clubs frequented by young people of the Rocker movement. These motorcycle were characterised by a series of structural and aesthetic changes, in order to enhance the concept of speed.

Two Italian guys who share a visceral passion for motorbikes have created various projects by modifying "ordinary" motorcycles in terms of aesthetics and content. The starting point of this custom cafe racer is a Honda XR 600, whose frame has been cut at the rear and modified to host two gas shock absorbers (specially made by Bitubo), replacing the original single shock absorber. The engine has been run in and serviced, and is powered by a flat valve CR Khein 41 carburetor. The canister has been removed, replacing this fuel system component with a BMC air filter. The original rims of the Honda XR 600 have been replaced with two Czech Excel + 19 "flat track hub, with the 2.5" channel. The front pertains to Yamaha R6 and the tank, together with the mudguards, have been specially made of aluminum to keep a low weight. The exhaust was handcrafted by Officine Italiane Zard, known in the racing and design sectors for over 30 years.

STRENGTHS POINTS:

- The original bike has been cutten in the rear part of the frame, and the two rear frames have been rebuilt to make them more similar possible.

- The XR has been transformed from one shock absorber to a double one, now it has a Bitubo developed right for this bike.

- The front part is of a Yamaha r6 and it has been adapted for flat track.

- The filter box has been removed and now it has a Aria BMC Filter, while the carburetor has been substitued by a CR Keihin 41 with flat valve. It has a Newfren fraction, while rims are Excel 19’’. Tank and fenders are projected in aluminium to guarantee a good weight.

- The seat has been projected in a double colour black and white, typical of Anvil Racing Team.

- Muffler is handmade by Zard.
