A revolutionary project to which engineer Vittorio Jano (designer of some of Ferrari's most famous engines) contributed. He designed a 4-cylinder V-cylinder with a small displacement - 903cc - that had a single overhead camshaft distribution and inclined overhead valves. The lines of the Lancia Ardea are based on its older sister Lancia Aprilia, resulting in a particularly elegant Berlina with astonishing performance. Recognised as the true progenitor of entry-level saloons, the Ardea was the smallest and most prominent model in Lancia production. Made in around 23,000 examples between 1939 and 1952, there were four different series; with the third series in 1948, the Lancia Ardea became the world's first car with a five-speed gearbox. Like most cars of the period, all Adrea models were built with right-hand drive. The car we are proposing was produced in 1950 and is a fourth series with the five-speed gearbox. The current owner has carried out an invasive restoration of the bodywork, interior and engine, registering it in the ASI historic register and obtaining the Targo Oro. Together with the car we offer numerous spare parts such as a complete V4 engine to be overhauled, two gearboxes (one 4-speed and one 5-speed), a steering column and two rims + tyres.
