The 2600 Sprint Bertone has earned a prominent position in the Biscione brand's production range, thanks in part to its reputation as a 'panther' used by the Squadra Volante of the Polizia di Stato to combat crime on Italian roads. Produced from 1962 to 1966 on the basis of its younger sister, the 2000 Sprint, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro for Carrozzeria Bertone, it had a powerful 2584 cc in-line 6-cylinder engine producing 145 hp under the front bonnet. The car we offer is a first series (matching number) from 1963 with the characteristic aluminium rear drum brakes, one-piece rear bumper and door handles incorporated into the bodywork. In 2014, the owner began a meticulous restoration that took him to various locations in Italy to find the original components to replace. The mechanics, interior and bodywork was completely disassembled and restored using the materials/components used by Alfa Romeo in the 1960s. Following the restoration lasted 3 years, the car was entered in the Alfa Romeo register, which bears the plate number 3157 on the front grille. Together with the car, the owner's manual and the tool kit housed in a bag inside the trunk are offered.
